We Shared Jesus, She Shared a Miracle
Alice has never said more than a few words to us. She is withdrawn, eyes always down and extremely quiet. And so it was again this Monday night – until Jesus came to visit. Tonight after giving Alice her candy bag, both Austin and I shared with her special little prayers to Jesus, that we told her were our "very favorites".
The Holy Spirit touched her heart and for the first time Alice shared with us. She told us that just a few days ago she was in deep depression grieving the loss of her past boyfriend, - who had recently died. She had just taken the first half of her heroin, and was debating whether she should "end it" by taking the rest of the heroin which would result in overdose that would have end her life.
She said she needed a piece of paper to "funnel" the heroin and so grabbed a piece of paper from a note pad in her purse. She decided to read the "message" that was written on this little memo sheet. She said "I can’t really remember all the words, - but it was something about Jesus having cried for me and died for me. What ever it was - I changed my mind about finishing the heroin that night." Those precious words from Jesus saved Alice’s life. They were on a note pad Alice had received in her Christmas "Gift Bag" from Agape Street Ministry, just a few weeks earlier. This is indeed a miracle. We will never be able to fathom how our heavenly Father pieces together these unbelievable miracles for countless children! But he does! Every day!
Grace upon grace, blessing upon blessing, wonder upon wonder! They are limitless…. As is our Father’s awesome love and his truly impeccable "timing".
Praise God for his Love Alone, Dyan
