Just Want to go Home

Shandy is tall, very thin, and very young too. On Christmass Eve we found her standing on the corner looking so sad and 'drug sick' (experiencing severe flue like withdrawal symptoms ranging from diarrhea to vomiting, convulsions, etc.) As we talked she becan to cry and say, "I just wnat to go home." I asked where home was and she told me Coquitlam. I said we would take her, but she just cried and said she couldn't go there because she was using. What she needed physically at that moment was, to stop the worsening withdrawal symptoms, was heroin... or Detox. But, detox was a waiting list away. So we held her, and again I cried with her, and we prayed with her for a Christmas miracle.
