God Loves Us

Monday was a busy night and we were carrying coffee drinks, muffins and candy-bags (with the spiritual cards inside). I counted all my drinks when I was down to 12 drinks left. 3 blocks later as we were crossing the street I had given the second to last coffee drink, leaving one left. There were two girls on the corner of the street – new girls we hadn’t seen before. I decided not to offer the drinks; as to offer only one drink might bring offence. The girls, Jo-Jo and Spice, were new, only in Vancouver for a short time. We talked to the girls about Agape Street Ministry’s and God’s love. One of the girls had just moved from Calgary. I had a friend who was moving there shortly. I offered a ride back home to her (through my friend). She said, “I could never go back. If you think it’s bad here.” My heart sank. My thoughts were, “What kind of place is worse than this?” Then Sandra offered, “Do you want drinks?” I said “Sorry, there’s only one left!” and Spice, said, “That okay, she (Jo-Jo) can have it.

I reached in. There were two cans now, not just one. I felt a shiver go through me, as I KNEW inside myself that there had only one can left. Earlier that same night, a girl had asked for a juice box. I said “Sorry, we don’t have any, just these cans of cappuccino. As I reached in to grab a can of coffee, my hand touched the square plastic box of a juice box. There was only one juice-box, and I hadn’t noticed it before.

It makes me step back and realize how much God loves us, that He is truly amazing.
