Clare's Coming Home
It looks like Clare is coming home. A native woman, drug addicted and with cancer, was visited by Gary and Vida, two street ministers, recently with a Pilgrim Mary, and they spent time praying the rosary and had welcoming prayers for the Pilgrim statue, which will stay with the woman for a period of time. Clare is going to attend bible study at the Kateri center close by, and is getting catechism instruction. Clare was brought up in the Catholic Church, and when I met her, her face with aglow with peace as she talked about her new journey back to the church. It’s been very hard for her the last couple of years, but now, she bubbles with happiness as she talks about the help that Gary and Vida have given her and is excited about “coming home”. She is especially impressed by the caring attitude of everyone that she’s met so far, and even said that one of the local protestant soup kitchens that she attends told her that “wherever you find Jesus, we’re happy for you. Keep going”.
