Servants - or - in secular terms, Volunteers.
What do we look for? Well it varies, but without a doubt, a calling specific to this ministry. Why? Because it's not an easy Ministry. It will challenge the faith of even the most devout at times. Great love for Jesus is paramount, because of our mission.
The one who is called to serve the most marginalized of His children will find great strength and love in this Ministry. While getting the women off of drugs and into a life of sobriety is important, it is not the primary reason why we do our work. We are there to 'Tell them He loves them.' We are called to share the love of Jesus with each of these women and help them to find their way to everlasting life through His word; to bring the Living ater to them.
While the governments and secular world try to find ways to 'get rid' of the drug problem... we at Agape Street Ministry firmly believe that it is His Word that will set these women free, once and for all - for life.
Each servant in the Ministry works for this mission. Whether it is candy packing, birthday bag packing, serving on the street, gardening or maintaining the Houses of Healing. We work together as one, to bring His Word to the women of the street and those recovering.
Prayer is a significant part of the Agape Street Ministry - in fact, you could consider it the battery that powers the Agape 'Motor'.Within every part of the Ministry, we are powered by prayer! So, of course, we look for a strong prayer life already present in your life. We pray when we pack candies, we pray when we walk the streets, we pray as we bag candies, we pray in the mornings, at night, whenever we can. Why? BECAUSE IT WORKS!
