Prayer
Agape Street Ministry is first and foremost a Prayer Ministry. On the left you will find a tab called 'Prayer List'. This is a current listing of the prayer requests from the working women of the street. We kindly ask that you pray with us for them.
Also, we have provided a general listing of prayers available on this website to assist with your prayers life. You will notice to the left there are hyperlinks to the various types of prayers, such as common prayers, the Rosary, Novenas, prayers from the Saints and the Divine Mercy.
Below is the Agape Street Prayer. It is said whenever a street team goes out and comes back in. We ask that you pray it for us also.
Agape Street Ministry Prayer
Before Walking:
Lord, we come before You to prepare ourselves
To go into the marketplace of evil
the streets where we walk.
Where sex is purchased to satiate lust
Where innocence is destroyed by drugs and alcohol and where greed
feeds on the broken spirit and despair.
Accompany us with Saint Mary Magdalene
To bring to our friends of the street
The comfort of Your holy love ~~ Agape.
Their desire for affection has been brutally abused.
Their lifestyle is despised and rejected
But their craving for genuine love
Attracts them to Your Holy Spirit awake in us.
Fill our minds with YOUR WISDOM
that we may say what is right and just.
Fill our hearts with YOUR LOVE
That we may comfort our friends
With YOUR LOVE and with YOUR CONFIDENCE and with YOUR HOPE for a pure
and sacred life in YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
Amen.
After Walking:
Lord we come to You from visiting our friends of the street
Where they have greeted us with Your blessing
Where they have hugged us with Your love
Where they have listed to us with Your patience
with Your joy and with Your suffering.
We thank You for showing us Your presence in their faces and in their
souls.
We pray that You will strengthen the resolve of those who want to
change
That You will comfort those who are in despair
And that You will have mercy on those who reject You.
Oh Holy Spirit, by Agape, transform this marketplace into a haven of Your love.
