Ministries

Agape Street Ministry is comprised of a variety of Ministries, one is not more important than the other, as each is a fundamental part of our mission. Following is a list of Ministries along with the areas that they take care of.

Street Ministry

This ministry is street based and focussed on evangelization and sharing the love of Jesus with the women of the street. There are two locations, one in Vancouver that serves the downtown eastside and one in Surrey that covers the Whalley/Guildford area.

Healing Houses

The Healing Houses are recovery houses for women who suffer from addiction. They are small Roman Catholic communities where the women are taught various lifeskills, encouraged to build their faith and start a personal relationship with Jesus.

Resource Ministry

This is about focussing on providing the means to build bridges with the women. The Resource Ministry is responsible for candy bagging, birthday bagging, scripture cards, and newsletter mailouts, office support and other much needed help.

Awareness Ministry

Here the focus is on spreading the word about Agape Street Ministry to the various parishes throughout the Archdiocese. It's focus includes, but is not limited to: Special Events, Newsletter Compilation, Webpage development, displays at events, and much, much more.

School and Youth Ministry

The focus is to create relationships with schools, youth and young adult ministries to show the young that people less fortunate are worthy of Jesus' love as much as we are and how each of us has a responsibility to take care of our brother or sister.
